Why do First Bus persist in forcing their double deckers through neighbourhoods clearly unsuitable for both the road infrastructure and the community they are serving?
Is it because they lost grant money in 2011?
Do they intend to change the number 8 route when circumstances allow?
Reply: As far as we know there are no changes to the service 8 in the near future as it is highly successful and needs no alterations As to your comment about the use of double deckers in unsuitable areas, can you please be more specific. Steve

Perhaps I may be permitted to observe that the level of rolling stock available to a TOC is determined by the DfT, which is why the new franchisee is likely to be stuck with the 40 year old MK3s on the GE main line and the ineptly lightly overhauled up 156s. The 153s have a limited life left
Reply: We have written to the Dft to ask as to why rail operators are not allowed to be more flexible in their ability to hire in more stock to cover accidents. Also we are asking them, in our next submission that the new franchise holder be high on the list for either new, or more likely, enhanced new stock for both the local lines and the London services. Has ENTUA got any further in its campaign for a direct bus from here and Belton to the JPH?

I fully support you in your aim to get a bus to Norwich vis Fleggburgh and Filby. For too long these villages have been cut off from the bus network with only a few buses a day
